Left hand or right hand: which one does palmistry read?

The non-dominant hand: what you came with
For a right-handed person, that is the left hand. Tradition reads it as the starting potential: temperament, family inheritance, original dispositions.
It says what you could have become had nothing intervened — which never happens.
The dominant hand: what you did with it
It is the hand you write with. It is read as the life actually built: choices, efforts, turns taken, what you developed and what you set aside.
It is the hand read first when someone asks 'where am I now'.
The gap between them: the most telling part
Two very similar hands are read as a life faithful to its starting point — for better, sometimes for stillness.
Two very different hands are read as someone who built themselves at a distance from what was expected of them. An absent fate line on the left and a clear one on the right, for instance, tells of a calling found alone.
