Your life path is the key number in numerology. It's calculated from your birth date. Learn how to compute it and discover what life paths 1 to 9, 11, 22, 33 mean.

Numerology is a mathematical reading of the sacred. Pythagoras laid its foundations 2,500 years ago: « All is number. » Today, the life path is the central number a numerologist calculates first.

It says what you came to learn in this life. Not what will happen — what you are made to become.

How to calculate it

Take your full birth date, add all the digits, reduce to a number 1-9 (unless you land on 11, 22, or 33 — called master numbers, which we don't reduce).

Example: July 23, 1985

• 2 + 3 + 0 + 7 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 35
• 3 + 5 = 8
• → Life path 8

Another: March 11, 1992

• 1 + 1 + 0 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 26
• 2 + 6 = 8
• → Life path 8

Special case: February 19, 1990

• 1 + 9 + 0 + 2 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 31
• 3 + 1 = 4
• → Life path 4

The expression number (from your first name)

In numerology, your first name also carries a number. Each letter = a digit (A=1, B=2, ... I=9, J=1 again, etc.). Add, reduce — you get your expression number: how you appear to the world.

The personal year

Your life path + the current year, reduced, gives your personal year (1-9). A year 1 calls to launch; a year 9 calls to close.

Example: life path 8, current year 2026 → 8 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 18 → 1 + 8 = 9. So you're in a personal year 9: the year of grand bilan, cleanup, endings.
